The Prinses Beatrix Spierfonds, Erasmus MC, and LentiCure are entering into a special collaboration with one main goal: bringing an advanced and life-saving gene therapy for Pompe disease to the market at a socially responsible price. The development of this gene therapy for this serious muscle disease has already proven successful in the laboratory. Martine Hauwert discussed the collaboration with Prof. Dr. Pim Pijnappel, who has been working on the therapy for Pompe disease for many years; Dr. Ellen Sterrenburg, Managing Director of the Spierfonds; and Dirk van Asseldonk, Director of LentiCure.
